Supporting PayPal, Stripe, Authorize.net, and a bank transfer PDF was a compatibility matrix that ate roadmaps. A few membership plugins have stopped pretending.
Stripe-only is a product decision. It will lose some sites. It will stop losing Friday nights to a gateway that last shipped in 2019.
If your membership site still needs a dozen gateways, you do not need a plugin. You need a finance team.
