The Plugin Directory Is Infrastructure. Treat It That Way.
Opinion: calling the directory a marketplace makes slop inevitable. Calling it infrastructure makes curation a duty.

A marketplace optimizes for more listings. Infrastructure optimizes for not falling down. The plugin directory has been asked to be both and is good at neither when it panics.
Review is not a vibe. It is load-bearing. If AI can generate a plugin in a minute, review cannot be a polite hobby.
Fund it, staff it, and stop pretending a badge is a substitute for a no.
