theme.json v3 Tightens the Spacing Scale
A smaller, named spacing scale is replacing the anything-goes pixel soup. Designers who loved 13 unique paddings will need a meeting.

theme.json’s spacing scale is getting stricter about names and steps. The goal is interoperable patterns: a “large” gap that means the same thing in two themes.
Custom scales still exist. They now have to declare themselves instead of leaking magic numbers into every group block.
If your theme.json looks like a spreadsheet of 4px increments, this is your cue to pick eight values and go home.
