Twenty Twenty-Seven Ships With Fewer Patterns on Purpose
The next default theme cuts the pattern library nearly in half. The remaining ones are built to be finished, not screenshotted.

Twenty Twenty-Seven arrives with a smaller palette and a smaller pattern drawer. Contributors argued about this for months. The “more is more” camp lost.
What remains is a homepage, a few query loops, and a footer that does not require a design degree. First-time users can publish a site that looks like a site.
Theme authors who copy the default and then add 60 patterns are invited to reread the commit messages.
